Rotation of Sets |
| |
Synapstar™
organizes your primary playlist of requests by automatically
sorting them. The current group of touchscreen users
make a set. Each time a new touchscreen user places
a request, it will be placed at the end of the first
set of users. If the touchscreen user places additional
requests before the first request completes, the
request will be placed in a set corresponding to
their total number of active requests. For example
the third request would be placed in the third set.
As each request is played the corresponding requestor
is placed at the bottom of the set and every other
requestor moves up one position. This method prevents
requests from the same touchscreen user from being
played more than once before another user's request
has played. |

| Playlists |
| |
There
are three playlists for the server operator to
control. Each playlist has an unlimited capacity
of queuing. Each of them may be saved to store
a favorite sequence of media. Also, they may be
optionally looped, where once a media request
is completed it returns to the bottom of its corresponding
playlist.
Primary
playlist - The primary playlist is where
all the requests from the touchscreen are sent.
The server operator may freely place requests
anywhere on this list or optionally become part
of the automated rotation described above. The
primary playlist accepts audio, video, and karaoke
media.
Secondary
Playlist - The secondary playlist is
only accessible from the server operator. Media
in this list may be freely arranged. Audio from
this playlist can be faded in and out of primary
playlist media. Media may be copied amongst the
primary and secondary playlists. The secondary
playlist accepts audio, video, and karaoke media.
Image
Playlist - The image playlist is only
accessible from the server operator. Media in
this list may be freely arranged. Images may be
enabled to automatically begin when no other video
source is present. They may also operate in a
slideshow fashion, where each image appears for
an adjustable period of time. The image playlist
only accepts image media. |

| Importer |
| |
The Importer software automates the input of media
(DVD-ROM, CD, CD+G, USB) from multiple supported
media formats.[Audio:
wma, wav, mp3, CD; Video: wmv, avi, jpg, bmp;
Karaoke: CD+G ] Audio media from CDs and CD+Gs
are encoded to lossless wma files to preserve
original CD sound quality. Encoded Media is imported
directly without re-encoding to wma. The Importer
cross references with freedb.org, an online CD
and CD+G database of nearly two million discs,
to identify the disc and insert data fields. All
imported media is stored in the Synapstar™
Library for easy management.

The
Synapstar™ touchscreens present
an intuitive user interface. Users may
select media by categories (such as
genre, title or artist) or seek a track
directly with an onscreen search. The
search software includes a spelling
variations feature for entries (up to
2 letters per word) and offers possible
alternatives. The Synapstar™ system
has the capability of connecting multiple
touchscreens while the Synapstar™
software places all entries in the Primary
playlist for the server operator.
|
| |
Each
Synapstar™ system has the option
of using magnetic stripe cards. Each
reusable card may be assigned with
any amount of credits. When a user
makes a selection and swipes their
card the system deducts the amount
shown and displays the current available
amount. This system also tracks cardholder's
selection history and displays previously
selected media as a favorites list.

Manual Control Options
|
|
|
The
Synapstar™ system offers numerous
manual controls for the system operator
to customize from the main consol. In
addition to the automatically created
queue with set rotation, system operators
may actively manage the primary, secondary
and image playlists. System operators
may play, fade requests in or out, pause,
insert images, move requests and more
with the click of a mouse and 'drag
and drop' sorting. |
